For a while my hubby and I had talked about getting the Nest for our home so that we could change our thermostat while we are away. Everyone hates coming home to a hot house or a cold house for that matter. Especially after a long travel day.

So when Best Buy reached out to me to review the Nest I was thrilled. Not only did they send me a Nest but they sent me a Netgear Nighthawk DST Router as well so I never have a dead spot in my home.

Let me talk about the Nest first. It’s pretty. I mean really pretty and super sleek. As I mentioned above I love that I can change my thermostat from anywhere. It also learns your habits and adjusts accordingly. It’s super smart! This helps save energy and money. It recognizes when you are home and away. When I walk past the Nest it lights up for a moment and lets it know I am home. How cool is that? It is super easy to set up too. There is an app for you to download which allows you to control the temperature. The app allows you to see all your energy usage which is really cool.

The Netgear Nighthawk DST Router is also a nice new treat as well. We have a few dead spots in our home and right outside of our home. So now I am able to work on my front porch or back porch without losing a signal or Wi-Fi which is so annoying.

I love that our home is becoming super tech savvy. I guess it makes sense since we are but it really is pretty cool that we have so many devices in our home that we are able to control via an app on our phone.
